Sources told CBC that the family was moved from their home to an undisclosed location in Canada’s capital of Ottawa amid security concerns.

• The Prime Minister’s Office insisted it could not comment on Trudeau’s whereabouts due to security reasons, the report said, but his itinerary noted he was in the “national capital region.”

• Trudeau said on Thursday he was going into isolation at home after exposure to COVID-19. Later it was revealed that one of his children had tested positive for the virus. Trudeau and his wife, Sophie, have three children.

• The massive gathering of people grew out of a “Freedom Convoy” of truckers that made its way to Ottawa over the past few days to protest coronavirus mandates.

• Police said 10,000 people were expected to gather, and , according to the CBC’s reporting Saturday evening, the protest has been loud and disruptive but also peaceful with no reports of violence and police saying no charges have been filed against demonstrators.

• Trudeau earlier dismissed the truck convoy as only representing a “small fringe minority” of those who “do not represent the views of Canadians.

• ” The CBC report said there was only a “smattering” of people present as counter protesters to voice support for COVID-19 vaccines and mandates.
