“We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account,” the spokesperson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension.”
- Bongino’s channel, Dan Bongino Show Clips, was put on suspension on Jan. 20. A YouTube representative said content he posted “violated our COVID-19 misinformation policies.”
- Bongino told the Washington Examiner that the video YouTube cited in banning his accounts was titled “Why I’m Leaving YouTube.”
- In the video, Bongino defended his suspension, saying that a previous statement about mask usage was “widely accepted scientific dogma,” including an old clip of Dr. Anthony Fauci saying something along similar lines.
- “Interesting watching them try to spin this to try to save face,” Bongino told the Washington Examiner. “Their stupidity is one of the main reasons I invested in Rumble. Rumble actually believes in free speech.”
